हनुक्का यहूदियों का एक त्यौहार है, जो इजराइल में मनाया जाता है। यहूदी लोग इसे रोशनी का त्यौहार भी कहते हैं। यह यहूदियों का सबसे बड़ा त्यौहार है जो 8 दिन तक चलता है। इस त्यौहार में दीपक जलाए जाते हैं। यह दिसंबर के महीने में मनाया जाता है। इस दिन यहूदी लोग ड्रैडल का खेल खेलते हैं तथा भोजन में तेल के पकवान बनाए जाते हैं।
इजराइल की जनता के अनुसार, यह त्यौहार दूसरी शताब्दी ईसा पूर्व में, दूसरे मंदिर के पुनर्विकास के उपलक्ष में मनाया जाता है। इस त्यौहार को मनाने का मुख्य कारण यह है कि इस दिन यहूदियों ने ग्रीको पर विजय प्राप्त की थी तथा उन्हें जेरूसलम से बाहर निकाल दिया। ये लोग 8 दिन तक प्रत्येक शाम को मोमबत्तियां जलाते हैं। स्कूलों की छुट्टियां होती है। इस दिन यहूदी लोग एक दूसरे को एक खास तरह का चकोर लट्टू उपहार में देते हैं।

Hanukkah is a Jewish festival celebrated in Israel. Jewish people also call it the festival of lights. This is the biggest festival of the Jews which lasts for 8 days. Lamps are lit in this festival. It is celebrated in the month of December. On this day the Jews play the game of Dreidel and dishes of oil are made in the food.
According to the people of Israel, this festival is celebrated in the second century BC, to commemorate the rededication of the Second Temple. The main reason for celebrating this festival is that on this day the Jews conquered the Greeks and drove them out of Jerusalem. These people light candles every evening for 8 days. Schools have holidays. On this day, Jewish people gift each other a special type of flatbread.
